If they stop asking an arm & leg for this crap. I looked @ the regal online and considered one for future purchase. They are asking WAYYY too much money for that thing. It seems the fusion will stay the best value in it's class. (I don't want to hear about ANY Korean auto makers)

Kinda, but you're exaggerating a lot..
It's really about what you're looking for and what you value (and if you're talking best value, I don't think the Ford Fusion is #1 BTW...
Maybe #2).
First off, the Buick is selling this car as an entry-level
luxury sedan, competing with the likes of the Acura TSX and not the Ford Fusion. I will say this, after sitting and driving in both a 2011 Fusion Sport and the 2011 Buick Regal (non-Turbo), that the price isn't so far off.
I'll just say that yeah, a loaded Fusion Sport will sell for around $31k-$33k (probably closer to $34k with AWD), and a loaded Turbo will be around $34-36k. Not a massive difference, but probably enough to pit them into direct competition. They are somewhat comprable in terms of performance. The Regal Turbo is slightly less quick, but I'm going to say that on paper (and from my test drive experience), the Regal has better grip, handling, and cornering especially with the available Drive Select feature that the Regal has.
The things that stand out for the Fusion is the avaialble BLIS, rear view camera, and SYNC system, ambient lighting may be a plus too. Buick definitely has the edge in having higher premium materials (nicer seats, more distinct style, and stitching), a better sound system (Harmon/Kardon), larger wheels, and OnStar.
So, it really depends on if you're looking for a good value with lots of goodies in an all-around good car (Fusion) or if you're trying to go just one notch higher (Regal)...and really, the price too is really just one notch higher, but it's hard to compare directly as the Regal gives you a really good way of configuring your options the way you like them.
Ya know, a lot of people think the Lincoln MKZ is wayy overpriced too, and that depends too when you're pricing out options. I think the MKZ starts at around $35k. I love the MKZ, but it was down to a loaded Regal Turbo at $35k and a base MKZ, I'd probably take the Regal Turbo. I'm also really excited about the Regal GS. Depending on how they price that bad boy, it could really be competitive in this particular segment
