I did mine @ 30k. Always a good idea to get it done. I'll tell ya..it took like an hour to drain. It came out slowwwwwwww..might be better to have a shop do it if possible.

Re: Coolant Flush?

I prefer "drain 'n fills" every 2 yrs - easiest, fastest and the most economical way to maintain the cooling system.

I use a 50/50 mix of distilled water and Xerex G-05. Also don't forget to remove your coolant tank's cap before you open the drain valve so the coolant flows out quickly and also remember to open the burp valve when your done, the location of which is shown in your owner's manual - leave it open for at least a minute to let the trapped air out. Hope this helps.

Do you need a special tool or key to open the burp valve? Mine 2008 SE looks like a key-hole? How about a nice Do-It-Yourself walkthrough?? Do these exist anywhere for our beloved FUSION 3.0???

Hey Guys. How about a nice Do-It-Yourself walkthrough?? Do these exist anywhere for our beloved FUSION 3.0??? How do I burp the cooling system correctly and will 2 gallons be enough of 50/50 premix antifreez be enough for my Texas climate? Do you just use a flathead on the burp valve? Thanks for the help!

Re: Coolant Flush?

well did the flush today and now i have what sounds like water slushing/cavitating around? opened the bleed valve and poured slowly till it showed full range cold, also till it flowed out of the bleed valve top. drove around 15mins both vent set to cool and heat a/c on to make sure it circulated the fluids, temp gauge reads fine just an abnormal noise and is making the wife a little uneasy. any input is appreciated. thanks
