Cargo net........my first mod!

I need to keep things in order in the trunk, so I tackled this today. I searched the forums here and didn't find any pictures on where to cut the trunk liner. I'd like to meet the rocket scientist at Ford that came up with the install directions! :x

I pulled the liner back and hopefully found the studs, they're actually studs for the tail lights. Made the cuts and installed the hooks.

What while I do next!

Joe

Re: Cargo net........my first mod!

That was one of my first additions in the wife's car as well. That, and a trunkliner. She likes the trunk liner, but hates the cargo net. As such, it spends its life off to the side, next to my Griot's cleaning bag...

Re: Cargo net........my first mod!

So I thought I got a good deal on the cargo net $16 shipped. I got the next and it's brand new BUT it didn't come with the hooks that it requires. Does anyone have any ideas on where to locate these hooks I need? They are threaded hook nuts that attach to existing screws behind the trunk liner.

I wondered if the trunk liner would cut down on interior exhaust noise with my Magnaflow. Does it seem quieter to you?

Why not use a coupler and attach a threaded hook to that. They hook onto the tail light studs right? I'll check to see what size and what thread they are tomorrow.

If it's the studs on the tail light give me a couple hours and I'll figure something out for you. If it works I'll send it your way.

Re: Cargo net........my first mod!

Sorry I couldn't get back sooner. I been car shooping with my sister's boyfriend.
Ok so this is what you could do. Get a 1/4" rod coupling and a 1/4" threaded hook at any hardware store.
The stud on the tail light is metric, 6x1.0. The coupling will go on it enough to hold but not enough to mess up the threads.
I tried to get a metric coupling but those are damn near impossible to find.
