Any chance I could screw up the fuel system by spraying the underside of the car

I drove the car yesterday, came home, washed it, and vigorously sprayed the underside of the car with the hose nozzle on "jet". Go out to start it this morning and it grumbled a bit, then wouldn't start. Sounds like it isn't getting fuel or a spark. I'm going to go home and see if there is fuel on the plugs after I turn it over a few times, then check to see if I'm getting a spark.

I'm just unsure about where the fuel pump is or if I could have blasted it with the hose and messed it up on accident.

I just sprayed under the car, I didn't open the hood and blast the engine components with water.

So I got home last night, tried to start it up, no dice. I did hear the fuel pump come on when I turned the key to on position. My wife gets in the car, turns the engine over and it starts after a few seconds. wtf. A little bit of smoke came out from under the passenger side of the car and a lot of moisture came out of the exhaust. I let it idle for a few minutes, then drove it around the block a couple of times and it was fine. Went home, shut it off, then went back out after a while and it started up just like normal. Car has no leaks and no fuel smell.

Very weird.
