I ordered some parts from Tasca to do this conversion. I just did a similar one in my wife's Mazda5, except hers has the sandwich-style oil to coolant heat exchanger on it. The cars are both well out of warranty, so I am not worried about that, but is this going to cause any other issues?
Great, thanks! They are Motorcraft and Mazda parts, respectively. I believe the parts were originally meant for the 2.0, but I am not sure of it. The kit I put on my wife's car seemed to fit perfectly.
I did this conversion while replacing my thermostat. It was pretty quick and painless, alot easier than the one on my wife's Mazda5 with the coolant/oil heat exchanger. Now i can use the inexpensive and easy to obtain FL400S filter again; just the same as my wife's ride!
