Coolant Flush = Coolant Leak

2008 Fusion I4

I need some serious help. About 2-3 weeks ago I flushed out my coolant system and tonight I was working on a motor mount. When I removed the jack from under the engine I notice my chunk of wood was wet with coolant.

So I double checked and the reservoir didn't leak anywhere because I had it taped up and moved out of the way. So I noticed about a spoon-full or two on the dead center of the engine in the front by one of the injectors and then got underneath and a good bit that dripped down the front of the engine and around to the oil drain (where my chunk of wood was).

Need some strong theories and warnings. I am worried that the manifold has a crack or that when I flushed it the seals had gunk that is now gone and leaking. I don't know much about this engine, but I'm guessing that somewhere in it there is coolant flowing around like I see on most intakes.

No leak today after work.

Thanks for the tip on the pictures, worked like a charm.

I live in DFW and it has been about 100 in the afternoon on the drive home. Today I saw no fresh fluid this morning, then I checked after I got to work around 7AM, nothing new.

Drove home today with a quick stop by the dealership for a part check, checked when I got home and no fluid at all. So I'm not sure if it has to get hotter than it did today in order to spring the leak. I'll keep an eye on it every day before/after work but any tips or theories are welcome. Thanks!

NoFusionyet,

you can also post pics by loading your photos on a site like photo bucket or another site that stores photos. highlight the photos URL from photo bucket or other site . then " copy" it . when you are posting a message you can then "paste" the photo in your post. the good thing about doing it this way is you are not limited to the ten photos that FFC allows you to post. and your pics wont disappear from your posts when they are taken out of the FFC's photo gallery.:coolio:

wish I could help with the coolant issue but after seeing the pics and not being familiar with the I4 I'm not sure what to think ,is the coolant level low? could it be left over coolant from the flush you did? or standing water from some other source , hopefully it stays dry and you don't have any more issues. keep us updated ,
