Yeah, just 2,800 miles on it and I have a check engine light on! Car is 7 weeks old. I called my selling dealership, All Star Ford in Pittsburg, CA and they told me they could look at it but I would have to leave it for the day. Oh, no loaner cars and they have no rental cars either. I ask, "Is there any advantage to bringing it back to you since I bought it from you?" The service advisor says, "No". So I am taking it to a dealership that is only 9 miles from my home- they don't have loaner cars but they do offer rentals for about $30 a day. I am very disappointed that a brand new car has a service light on already. I hope this is not an indication of things to come.
So I took the car into Walnut Creek Ford and asked if I could wait and see if was just a code or something that needed to be reset. The service advisor, Preston, was a nice guy and he showed me to the waiting area. Coffee, popcorn, counter space to work- I was good. An hour later Preston told me the car was fixed. They found a Canister Purge Valve, E29 that was not seating all of the way. They had one in stock and replaced it and cleared the code. I drove it home and it has not come back on. Let's hope it does not. I was pleased with Walnut Creek Ford's quick service and waiting area.
