I have seen many posts over the years regarding solenoid code P0757 or similar in asian (mazda) FNR5 Fusion transmissions.

Frequently it seems that folks will retrieve a code such as 0757 (solenoid B stuck open) replace the solenoid and still have the problem. Perhaps they didn't replace the correct one since FORD AND MAZDA IDENTIFY THEM DIFFERENTLY!

Ford calls a certain solenoid "B" and Mazda says it is "E" ! Mazda calls one "B", that Ford says is "D". ??????

PAGE 3 of this schematic shows and alerts to the different identities: http://www.transgo.org/Research/TechData/ford-v/FNR5-VB.pdf

This company arbitrarily identifies them in the Mazda format:

Cobra transmission, where I ordered one, sent me what Ford calls "B".

My code reader says solenoid B. I am tempted to believe that my code reader is using Ford data since it is a Ford computer (i would think). Ideally I would replace both, but one is $25, and the other $150 and I don't have the "other" in my hand right now.:tears:

Very interesting. Is there a ford TSB about this that could maybe explain this.

I tried to remove the "other" B solenoid, one that Mazda identifies as "B", but couldn't get it out. Removed the screw like the other, smaller one, but it just wouldn't budge. I was prying around at it and couldn't figure out what was holding it in.
