Everyone should also be very aware of this tsb which is somewhat related the the shift concerns, I'll also posting this in pdf formatted attachment
And I just checked on the ford site and my car was built on 4/3/07 so I'm not going to be able to perform the tsb update on it. Sorry but if I get a fusion in the shop(not likely since they just dont have problems much), I will try and do the same testing with it to see the differences like I said.
Hi Guys, I was wondering if any of this info on having ford update the PCM and TCM is still relevant, or if it's better to go with the XCAL and leave ford out of it completely. I'm still under warranty so I'm not really sure which was to go. Thanks so much!
Well hell, don't I feel stupid!? I have been noticing the high idle at startup and some occassional shifting that seemed off for some time now, but not sure if I remember it happeneing while I was in warranty. Ugh, guess I need to get to the dealer to address it, fun fun. Wish I had found this forum a long time ago. Any idea how much a reflash will cost?

Yea, i went by my local ford dealership today and spoke with my friend (body shop manager). I told him my car was experiencing symptoms x,y, and z. I told him i was reading on the forums that TSB 07-02-03 will fix this. So, the mechanic comes in to tell me that i need to clean the throttle body in addition to the new TSB code. I'm thinking.....ok, i can do that myself but i could see where he was going.... so i said, how much will that cost? He said about 60 bucks. . . Long story short, i brought up the fact of me still being covered by my warranty. So, my explanation was if the TSB is covered and the throttle body cleaning is part of the problem, then they should both be covered under warranty. . . . Just a thought, to those who are still covered and experiencing these problems.
