Since my ISP allows me only a teeny-tiny amount of web-space, I decided to use YouTube to host these videos.

I pay $120 a year for 2.5TB of monthly bandwith, and 205 gigs of server space. Never any downtime unlike some...

For those of you who have had the new Ford tune for a while, have you noticed any improvement/decline in fuel mileage?
[/quote]
As for me, I don't think there is much effect on the fuel mileage. If anything, it's decreased a little bit because I'll find myself stepping on it a little more with the new tune.
I just drove my Milan 3.0L V6 back from the dealer after the typical oil & filter, and wipers replacement, and the PCM/TCM recalibration. Here's my observation. First off, no idiot light came on and the cruise control works perfectly. Now the good stuff. I noticed right away that throttle response was immediate, both on normal acceleration from a stop, and on downshift acceleration for passing as an example. The slight momentary lag that was there previously is total history. It does act now like it has a wider torque range, especially at the lower rpm range. Now, it's even more fun to drive! Gas mileage? LOL. Yeah right. Just go ahead and try to keep your foot from playing with the go-pedal, I double-dare yah.
So I guess I'm sort of confused here: Can you just call a Ford service department and say 'Hey. The stock tune sucks. Can you make mine not suck?' Or do you order something like the XCaliber2 and then take it to them to have them do it? If Ford does it, and knows about it, doesn't it void the warranty? I plan on buying the LiveWire tuner frorm Steeda in November, but I thought it was something you could just do yourself?
BTW... anyone want to guess what the HP and torque gains might be with the tune, CAI, and magnaflow exhaust?
Welcome to the forum Tony. I seriously doubt if the Ford dealer would use a commercial tuner to reprogram the PCM (power train computer module) and doubtful if they would use their own equipment to do it either without charging for it.
how do i get ford to do this pcm tune and what should i say, cause i know i shuld have this done before i put the rest of my stuff on , cause i raced my buddy with an 07 v6 and by the time we hit 60 he was a car length a head of me at least, just waiting on exhaust intake and springs all in mail but have my 18s on
Ok, I have a 2007 V6 AWD fusion. When I drive it, the RPM's only get opto about 3-4k... If I flur the car, it will be at about 3-4k for a minute.. then randomly go to 5k, then shift... How do I get ahold of this.... shouldn't it already be on my car, because its only a month old... or how do I ask for it when I go to the dealer?

Basically you want to go to your dealer service department and tell them you would like the computer update for TSB #xxx. Explain to him/her that you are experiencing problems A, B, and C that are clearly described in the TSB and that you are unsatisfied with these areas of the cars behavior. You have friends and family members with Fusions that have had the TSB performed at their last service visit and their vehicles are running much nicer now. :blah:
Please leave out words like tune, chip, performance, and mod as it will generally cause the dealer to treat you like an AlQuida operative. :ugh:
okay the TSB# 07-2-3 it states that the car hesistates and transmission lag, when you go to dealership simply go in maybe for a routine oil change and this tsb number and tell the service rep you are having the problems noted above. if you have to pay, which almost no one did? it is like $60 but perfectly worth it, i would go to differant dealerships and find one that does it for free, btw if you have to pay, it is totally worth it. and this does affect early 2008 models, that were produced before march 07

alot of people have been asking for this so i couldn't find the actual tsb but this should help.
Hey all. Well, I went and got some major maint. done on my Fusion along with the upgrade. I have to say thanks to all that posted info about this on here. I've had my Fusion when they first came out and I know exactly how it drives etc. After this upgrade, I'm amazed. My fusion, for the first time, scared me. It is a totally different car in that sense. Whatever they did with the programming or whatever, Ford did it right. It's fun to drive and makes me more confident about the car. The throttle repsonse and gear changing are way different and more effective, especially hitting high speeds. Thanks again for all of the info and help.
Well I just emerged from my warm, cozy cave and discovered this thread... I can't believe there was an easy fix available all this time, and it's FREE?... I've owned my '06 since Aug '07 and I just now read this, been dealing with all these driving issues all this time, for nothing.
Cisco sent me the TSB yesterday, so I'm eager to get this done. I'm pretty stoked, I'm headed to Ford tomorrow! Hope it's everything I've read about.
Edit: Got this done, very nice improvement! Shifting is much crisper and the car feels more responsive, definitely worth it. They looked at me sideways, however, when I handed them the TSB, wanting to know where I got it. Lol I told them you can get anything on the internet nowadays!
I am a Master tech at a Ford dealer, although my role is Diesel technician, I am knowledgable with alot of other stuff. I just bought a 07 Fusion SE V6 and I love it and just found this site and thought I'd join in and share what I know and hopeully learn some from everyone else in the process. I just pulled up pts(forddealersite) and downloaded the tsb being discussed and I'm trying to post it. it is in pdf format.
If anyone has any questions feel free to ask me or shoot me a message. I can answer one question already I see in the thread. Someone ask how we(ford techs) reprogram your pcm/tcm? We use a laptop based scantool called IDS which we use for pretty much any vehicle issue monitored by a module connected to a vehicle network bussed to the dlc. We can view live information, perform system specific testing, use output state control to command components or sytems to perform in a specific manner in order to see the reaction or lack thereof. We also use the ids for re-programming of just about any module on a vehicle. We just select the program menu item, go through a few simple stemp, answer questions, the computer does 90% of the work, although there are times when things dont work properly and we have to log into ford pts site and locate original build data and reprogram modules manually with original coding. Once in awhile it gets more complicated but thats only 1% of the time so I wont go into more detail. The programs are easy to do, dont pay worth a damn(in the opinion of most techs), and therefor we dont like to do them and depending on the level of difficulty involved with the re-program many techs will say they did it when they actually didnt, or an issue sometimes comes up when a tech skips a step such as removing a fuse to a certain module before the re-program so then the computer gets confused and the program is corrupted and must be re-done properly, I found this part out the hard way with the ficm re-program on 6.0L diesels when I accidentally forgot to remove a relay.
I think tomorrow when I go to work I will run the ids on my car and make a recording of engine parameters with the torque pid displayed and then perform the tsb update, and then re-run the same scenario with another recording and compare the before and after and see what difference if any is real and tangible. Of course this depends on if my car was built before the cut-off date in 06 since mine is an 07. I'll try and take snap-shots of the results and post them here for all to see.
